Luxury hotels pamper their guests like no other. Once a traveler has stayed in a 5-star hotel, they find it difficult to check in anywhere else. Expedia serves up 5-star hotels around the world, offering complete descriptions, photos of the hotel inside and out, plus guest reviews and the website’s helpful Insider Tips. Expedia also connects travelers to the best prices on rooms at the hotels. A recent search of Expedia found standout 5-star Barcelona hotels, plus 5-star San Francisco and Dubai hotels.

There are 596 Barcelona hotels listed on Expedia, with 22 of them earning the 5-star rating. The 5-star Hotel Claris sits in the centre of the city, near the popular shopping destination Passeig de Gracia, and features an outdoor swimming pool and two dining options, East 47 Bar and Restaurant, which serves fusion cuisine, and the Claris Restaurant, open for breakfast. The hotel also has an Egyptian Museum on site, with engravings commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte, mosaics, and Roman sculptures from the second and third centuries. Rooms are decorated in a modern style and include satellite TV and high-speed wireless Internet access. Room rates start at AU$225 per night, a deal for 5-star Barcelona hotels.

Expedia lists 270 San Francisco hotels, including five 5-star hotels. Guests at the 5-star Four Seasons San Francisco can walk to Union Square, the Museum of Modern Art and the San Francisco Shopping Centre, and also catch cable cars to other popular destinations in the city. Guests also can visit the adjoining 127,000-square-foot Sports Club/LA, which has a junior Olympic lap pool, a cardio center, steam rooms and a day spa. The hotel’s guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, flat-panel TVs, iHome clock radios and soaking tubs. A guest review had this to say about the hotel:

“The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, the staff extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean. They absolutely know how to make your stay special, every night the bed was turned down with Christmas music playing softly in the background. I would definitely tell everyone to stay at the Four Seasons.”

The Expedia Special Rate comes in at AU$464 per night, a rate well worth it for one of the most luxurious San Francisco hotels.

There are 339 Dubai hotels on Expedia, and 72 are 5-star. The 5-star Le Meridien Dubai sits on 38 acres featuring landscaped gardens, 16 restaurants and bars, three outdoor swimming pools, plus a spa and wellness centre. Guest rooms are air conditioned and feature high-speed wireless Internet access and marble bathrooms. The website’s Insider Tip reports that:

“At the Dubai Creek two kilometres away, guests can take a short trip on an abra (small boat) straight to the Gold and Spice Souks. Larger dhow boats are also available for cruises on the Arabian Sea.”

Average nightly room rates start at AU$112. This Expedia Special Rate makes it one of the more affordable Dubai hotels.
