It’s the heaviest package I’ve ever received by UPS.

As other reviewers have pointed out it is extremely well made and engineered, looks good, and comes in a well protected package.

Two people are needed to install it, it must be installed with screw bolts into wall studs to be safe (if you don’t like the ones provided get some longer stronger ones at HD), it weighs about the same as the TV, and the wall stud locations will limit where you can install it. It does have some cabling provisions built-in, but you still have to find a place for the equipment that goes with the TV.

    I decided to return it.

I needed the base of the 40inch Bravia TV to be about 30-36 inches above the floor for viewing angle, so I purchased an IKEA Leksvik tv unit for about $150 and this holds all of the equipment and cabling, and has room on the top for almost any size TV. It doesn’t allow for swivelling but I didn’t really need that -make sure that the TV can be viewed from quite a wide angle without loss of picture if you have a fixed position though.

So my recommendation is first see if you can use a tv console, and if not use an AM3 with a unit to hold TV related equipment.

  2. Bought this wall mount in October, hung it shortly after I received it. Everything was great! It was easy to use, and the screws provided worked fine. I was able to hit studs, so there was no issue with that. I had my father in law come over to help me, it took about 30 min from start to end, and I swear I could hang an elephant from it. In my opinion its worth spending the money on a quality wall mount. Love how it articulates, adjusting is easy, ttilts back and forth, side to side with ease, and stays in the position. Love it!

  3. I used this to mount my 52″ Samsung LCD and it isplenty strong enough. Takes a bit of planning to install, but if you are careful it is no big problem. I use ti to swing the TV at it far extent to view from the Kitchen and it works great and seems to have no problems. Looks good too with the arms extended due to the finish.

  4. Scary at first glance when unwrapped and lying on the floor, but once mounted on the wall it is awesome and strong, I think the wall would go long before the mount. I did the install by myself but it would be better as a two man job. I hooked it up to a Sony 40 inch TV. One nice feature about the swing out is hooking up all your cables, you can swing it any way you need for access and the cables can run in the arms so they are out of the way and not visible. Well worth the extra bucks over the other flimsy ones on the market.

  5. I used the AM3 universal swing out TV mount for a new 52″ LCD flat screen

It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy built. Works great and lets my

52″ LCD spin around so it is “staight on” visable from all angles.
