They were only pointing out that Britian’s Got Talent is not the “sister” show of American Idol, but of America’s Got Talent. They were not trying to claim America invented either one. Don’t be so sensitive.
As for as a makeover, get fixed up a bit. Just like all the other contestants do for the finals. What is the big deal?

I don’t agree with Joy and her “in your face” but I think every woman wants to look her best. Some just don’t know how to do that. They need a bit of help. I’m glad for Susan that she was able to get a “make over”. It didn’t change who she is it just made her feel happier about herself and the way she looks. If I was her I would be ecstatic that I could get a makeover to make me look nicer. She even said so herself on Oprah that it made her feel better about herself.
You Americans need a make over ie: Helen Thomas , Steve Buscemi , Spike Lee , Jay Leno , Howard Stern , Mike Tyson , Snoop Dogg , Robert Englund , Michael Moore , Marilyn Manson , Michael Moore , Forest Whitaker , Anne Ramsey , Roseanne Barr , Joan Rivers. All ugly.

yes, Joy you’re right to a point. So they fixed her up kinda — remember they wanted Babs to fix her nose and she would not do it. Looks aren’t everything. It would help to dress her up a little to boost her self esteem and she looks great now. Here’s to Susan and I bet she performs in front of the Queen and she didn’t come in 1st. Just being on Britan’s Got Talent has brought her to the top — she’s good.

What kind of mind would focus on superficial looks, when their heart should be melting at the voice and the story?
First time I saw THE VIDEO in full, tears streamed down my face. I don’t cry much, maybe when a dog or a deer dies in a movie. The triumph of the downtrodden really got to me here though.

Susan Boyle IS Britsh. England, Scotland and Wales are all part of Great Britain. So if your Scottish then your British. And lots of people love the Queen. Her popularity has always been over 80%.
