I love Susan, and she sings this song very well. Her version follows Charlotte Martin’s earlier version very closely.
All credit to Jagger/Richard for writing the song, but when Mick sings it, he sings it in a rock style, which to me sounds very yobbish and which suits all their up-tempo classics like “Street Fighting Man”, “Jumping Jack Flash” , etc. but not this song.

Babs S changes the tempo and everything to a soot her style I believe Susan is just as good as Babs. I love this song it is so different than the other version and it is so beautiful. Susan has been teased and tormented all her life because of her disability. She is an inspiration to all. She is so childlike and it is beautiful to see her. She loves performing — music is her everything.

Anyone with any heart could understand that ….”let’s do some living after we die”… would be a comfort and consolation to those grieving the loss of loved ones. Nothing strange or humorous about it.
Yet this song sung by her would be beautiful and touching at any event or venue.

And I add that it is entirely irrelevant whether people like Susan or love her.
She is now living her dream, against all the odds. When you have the guts to go out and take a risk as she did, to the victor go the spoils.
She has gone where most of us can only dream of – and I love that she doesnt fit the mold. All the more inspirational.

@villeban This is better than Celine could ever achieve. What is not yet fully understood is that if this is SBs personal interpretation (and not someone else’s arrangement) then her voice is only one of her assets and not even the most important. Singers who so change a song just by singing it are very rare – but she may be one. Cowell will be sick if that is the truth because ‘interpreters’ are the death of his shoddy commercialised crap.

its easy to criticize when its hard to achieve. those who drag others down who are trying to achieve something in their lives, are the very ones that should find it in themselves to persevere to achieve their own dreams, to become some body one day instead of hating on others for a living. life is too short to be pissed off all the time you’ll eventually get tired of it. This Sussan is an inspiration, an example to many every where around the world.
